No hace mucho aprendí el significado de esta flor, no solo porque lo leí en Internet. Sino porque alguien me lo hizo comprender. La importancia de las cosas, o las cosas más importantes en esta vida residen en los actos más simples. ¿Quién no se ha emocionado al ver a un niño de 2 o 3 años compartir un dulce? Todos sabemos lo dificil que es a esa edad desprenderse del azúcar. Pero ese pequeño acto está cargado de contenido. Al hacerlo el niño piensa en la felicidad del otro más que en la propia, pero a la vez si tomamos las palabras de Baden Powell (fundador de los Scouts) "La felicidad reside en hacer felices a los otros".

Esta flor es utilizada por la Asociación Sueca de No Fumadores, quien la adoptó como símbolo de
su causa y cada 31 de mayo, Día Internacional contra el Tabaco, entregan esta flor a las personas que ese día no fuman. A partir de 2001, la Asociación Danesa de No Fumadores también adoptó esta iniciativa.

Sería muy interesante que los Scouts nos sumemos a un acto tan simple como este, porque en él reside la importancia de las cosas. Expresar cuanto queremos al prójimo. ¿No sería inspirador ver a jóvenes en todas las ciudades de Argentina regalando flores (Gerberas) a otros, como una forma de decir: te quiero.?

Just a few days ago I learned the meaning of this flower, not only because I read it in the Internet, but someone make me understand it. The importance of the things, or the most important things in this life are in the simple actions. Who don't be touch by the feeling that produce to see a boy of 2 or 3 years old sharing a candy? We all know about how hard is, at that age, give sugar to other. But, that simple action is full of meaning. When the boy do that, he is thinking in the other's happiness, but in the same moment if we take the words of Baden Powell (founder of Scouting) "The happiness is in make happy to the others".

This flower is used by the Swedish Association of Not Smoking, which adopted as a symbol of their cause, and every May 31, International Day against Tobacco, they give this flower to the people who are not smoking that day. Since 2001, the Danish Association of Not Smoking adopting this initiative too.

It will be very interesting that Scouts de Argentina join this simple action, because in it is the importance of the things. To express how much we love to the other. Will not be an inspiration to see youngs in all the Argentinian cities given flowers (Gerberats) to others, as a way of say: I love you?
